 FAQs

  • Our Forefront Cabinet resurfacing approach is best suited for cabinets that are structurally sound and built/installed after the 1970s. However, if your cabinets have significant water damage, mold, or fire damaged frames, replacing them may be a more practical and long-term solution.

  • Yes, a Forefront kitchen remodel provides an opportunity to partially modify the layout to improve functionality and flow. However, altering the layout can increase costs due to additional plumbing, electrical, and structural work. Consult with one of our experienced team members here at Ackley for more information!

  • Upgrading appliances during a remodel is advisable if your current ones are outdated or inefficient. New appliances can enhance the functionality of your kitchen and may offer energy savings in the long run.

  • We can help you design custom storage solutions like pull-out drawers, storage organization systems, and custom roll-out shelving to maximize your kitchen space efficiently and stylishly.

  • YES! Cabinet resurfacing can be highly durable, especially with quality materials. Properly installed standard refaced cabinets can last as long as new ones, often 10-20 years or more.

Our Forefront cabinet technique takes refacing a step further by using new 3/4” solid wood frames (instead of thin laminate) and often last 20-30 years with proper care.
